Dark is beautiful!

Happy International Women's Day! Let’s celebrate this day together, let’s talk about women and their status in 21st century. A celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements.

What could be better than sharing my thoughts and inviting your input on women of 2015. We might have become pilots, engineers, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs and above all the loving homemaker wife who gives most of her life in raising her kids, taking care of her home and family.

Yet we have lost the battle with our self. The battle where we constantly fight to change our skin color, and the battle which sadly, sometimes is inflicted on us by other women.

I have not placed these pictures above to debase anyone but my only motive to use pictures of famous celebrities is to show that beneath their glamour they all are simple looking women.

Their skin also has marks, blemishes, uneven surface and they all are not fair- yet they look stunning.

Girls and ladies are equally becoming obsessed with fair complexion and glowing skin. So many girls are pressurized by none other than their own mothers and mother-in-laws to have fair skin, they would take their daughters to all kinds of doctors, beauticians and quacks so they can get fair and glowing skin.

Some girls are pressurized by their to be mother-in-laws only few days before the marriage ceremony to get their skin fair or else their son will reject her. Ladies, girls, sisters, aunties, mothers & mother in laws please Take A Note: the perfect, glowing, even & fair skin DOES NOT EXIST; at least in human beings.

Please accept that we are born with our facial colours and no cream or injections or tablets can ever change the complexion. There might be some creams which can whiten your skin but in reality are bleaching and permanently damaging your skin.

The upper layer of skin is actually ruptured by these acidic ingredients in creams or injections which will make your skin transparent and fragile like a tissue paper.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the USA announced that Glutathione injections were not safe for the sole purpose of skin whitening. Additionally, FDA Director Suzette Lazo emphasized that the use of Glutathione was never approved as a skin whitener.

Glutathione injections- are used for skin whitening or for skin glowing, following are some of the documented side effects of these injections:
  •  Hair loss
  • White spots on the nails
  • Numbness of extremities
  • Shivers and shakes
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Allergy or Anaphylaxis (manifested by difficulty of breathing, tightness of chest, rashes, hives, and swollen skin)
  • Systemic Infection
  • Stevens–Johnson Syndrome
  • Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis or Lyell’s Syndrome
  • Kidney Failure
  • Thyroid Dysfunction
  • Severe abdominal pain
These are some pictures of patients with side-effects of skin-whitening injections:

As for the glow, a human face has ups and downs, areas hidden under cheek bones, side of cheeks, below nostrils- these are all the places which are shaded and due to this shading our skin color is uneven. That’s why makeup foundations, concealers, correcting pens, shimmers are used to even out the multi-toned skins.

Please do not fall prey to marketing gimmicks of some so-called cosmetics companies because they are deliberating brainwashing you, making you believe that if you are not fair then you can never get married, or succeed in your profession.

They would be able to sell their products only and only, if you as their customers are unhappy with your skin and complexion.

As I was researching on this topic I came to know that India's whitening cream market swelled from $397 million in 2008 to $638 million in 2012. Skin-lightening products accounted for 84 percent of the country's facial moisturizer market.

The entire media, national or international, is promoting this senseless obsession with glowing and fair skin- the perfectly single toned skin that does not have any blemishes, dark spots or uneven skin.

Nobody is born with the perfect white skin, everyone use makeup and it is applied with skilled techniques. Makeup is a complete science, years of education and training is acquired by makeup artists so they can paint a beautiful model or actress.

The only true secret of looking beautiful is to accept yourself as you are- fair, dusky, wheatish, dark whatever color you have, just accept it gracefully.

Eat well; include fruits & vegetables in your daily diet. Walk or exercise at least 3 days a week. Drink minimum 8 glasses of water. Sleep 7-8 hours.

Stay away from sugars, soft drink, sugary drinks, fried food, fast food & junk food.

Pray and meditate.

Your face is a sign board of your inner state, whatever you are feeling, thinking and eating shows up on your face. Cleanse and empty your mind and heart from all jealous, hurting, angry and negative thoughts and emotions. Develop your soul because people can see your soul in your physical appearance.

And remember, you are beautiful and complete as you are..Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

Have a wonderful life!
