Phantasy

It is so fulfilling to know that your efforts are helpful to others and I am grateful for all your messages and comments. Although I feel that there is still a great deal to learn and to discover on my part. Do keep up with your input, it is very helpful.

Weddings are all over the place, it seems everybody is getting married yet it is at times an alienating feeling. When everybody around is either married, about to get married, it seems strange that I am not part of the “Married Group”.

So what is it to get married, does it imply that one has now become part of that approved section of the society or you get married because you actually believe in sharing your life with somebody? I wonder what the answer could be for most of the people; however, the institution of marriage has been there for ages and it has worked for many people.

Probably there shouldn’t be any philosophical debate about marriage in the first place. It is something that everyone before you, after you has ventured into and would continue to do- period. I have seen that people who are most practical and simple-minded quickly find the right person to get married.

Then there is another category that makes up a fantasy life with an ideal partner, riding merrily on the one-sided love track. For this group whose majority are females; marrying a real person in the real world becomes a dilemma. Fictitious love story invented up only in the mind then turns into a comfort zone or more of an excuse of not facing the reality. The reality that the person they presumably love has nothing to do with them and the irony is that when they are looking for someone unreachable, the people who are dying to be in their reach get ignored.

Okay I guess I have deviated from the main theme. The theme was actually that there are many weddings or engagements coming up and if you are not a very social person like me then finding the formal clothing, appropriate jewellery becomes a hectic task. Then keeping up with latest trends is another excruciating process, but I have become obstinate in my habits and would simply wear whatever is available in my closet.

With that I take your leave for tonight. Good Night!

Sonya. (Day 267)

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?" "Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life." The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So why is the groom wearing black?"
