Wishes or Compromises

I was in conversation with a friend and we were talking about desires and reality when she said that I should be prepared to compromise on few of my wishes because nobody in this world gets everything. Although I have profound respect for her guidance but a voice inside my heart said “No! I refuse to accept this theory because this isn’t true”.

I agree that at times we wish for one thing and something completely different appears in our life. However, what we fail to realize is that we receive something that is actually wonderful when compared with what we wished for initially. Why we fail to realize that, is because we cling to our desires by standing in our own way thus we become our own enemy.

In 2005 I saw for the first time in my life a colored laptop by Sony, I was in love with it immediately and decided to buy it. However, the colored series was unavailable in Karachi at that time, so I had to wait for the right time. In 2006 I went to Singapore and planned to buy the colored laptop from there. First, we went to this giant superstore Al-Mustafa and was really excited to see my dream laptop, nevertheless, the salesman at the store was not only rude but hardly interested in showing us anything and just left us with the boxed laptop. We came back disheartened and frustrated.

As we called home my Uncle suggested to us that we should go to Sim Lim Square. So next day we went there and a really helpful and efficient salesman came forward. I saw my dream laptop and excitedly told him what I wanted. To give you a clear idea here is the picture of that laptop.

After which the Salesman said that Sony has introduced a new color series three days ago and if we like he would show us this new version. As he came back with new model I got absolutely crazy about it; this latest one had vibrant colors, new technology with lite weight and a smaller screen. Here is the picture of that latest model:

Since it was launched only three days ago so it had introductory price which gave us a discount of almost Rs. 10,000. I was ecstatic because it was the first major purchase of a luxury item with my own money.

You could see the difference between the look of the two laptops. Moral of the story is that I did not get the laptop immediately and I didn’t get what I initially desired for but I received something more wonderful. The time gap was because God didn't want me to have that old and heavy version but preferred for me the newer and sleeker model.

So if on appearance wishes and their manifestations didn’t match, yet if we step out of our mind’s attachment we would then be truly able to acknowledge the magnificence of new outcome.

My Love to all……

Very right Sonya!! But the problem is that we human beings always think very superficially when ever we encounter such moments but here I must say that....

"If u desire Allah to be persistent in granting u the things u love, be persistent in doing the things HE loves"

Have a nice Sunday...

Thank you so much Irfan for visiting & giving your wonderful input, I always appreciate it.

And one the thing HE loves is to be always Grateful. If you dont have what you want then be grateful for every other thing which you have. Once you get yourself at the gratitude frequency you will more things in life which you can be grateful for... remember "every action has equal & opposite reaction"...

Thanks & TC..
