To Whom it May Concern
‘It was a cowardly
attack, we will punish so and so’
‘The incident is
deeply regretted, I share my deepest condolences to all the families who lost their
loved ones”
‘I condemn
terrorist attacks’
One of the major job done, issued press statements. Now
lets go back to our normal lives, its business as usual.
Few days passed and everyone will forget and move on,
news channels will stop reporting as the news is no more vibrant or raising TRPs.
No more blood, no more crying or screaming women, no more dead bodies.
No action, No precaution, No special task forces, No
accident management, No protection. And we all wait anxiously for another
attack, for another suicide bombing. Alas... the cycle continues.
Nobody is bothered and we are all at the mercy of
terrorists. We are safe not because we have perfect protection but we are safe only
because terrorist have not targeted us as yet.
Army Public School’s incidents and earlier similar
attacks are the dark moments of our country, and they are not taking place randomly.
Something is not right, we are overlooking something, we are not paying
attention.
We need to look carefully at the chain of events
leading to this helplessness and painful incidents, utilize our protection resources
intelligently, we need to really take a closer look on the security
measures-identify the problems and solve it immediately.
There is no time to play politics or using
intelligence resources on personal grudges.
It’s the time to wake up and do something about it,
nothing happens without a reason. Look, identify and solve before any more
damage is done.
Yours truly,
Sonya Syed. (Day 506)
