Magic or Miracles..continued

"Sadia Saleem Another good one...ur blogs have always uplifted my spirits in some way, but this one being totally different gives us a small grasp at just how powerful our Almighty is...our praises are just a measurement of our faith in Him and our worships are a manifestation of that measurement...ur blog actually took me in d flashbacks and I remembered when we actually landed up at a babas astana for d sake of fun...at times those carefree days are deeply missed    keep up the best work   "

This one is especially for my best friend Sadia who has always shown me her love, appreciation and encouragement. And of course, how can I forget all of you for always blessing me with your affections.

Sadia and all of my Dear Readers, I thank you so much from my heart for responding so beautifully for my post “Miracles & Magic? I wonder…” . AND Thank You Allah for  this  amazing opportunity to write this blog.

It is so true that how easily we underestimate power of prayer and Almighty. If God could perfectly manage this earth, solar system & all galaxies, then He also can manage our little life, only if we let Him.

Sadia and I are friends for ages now Masha Allah, seen a lot of highs & lows- ups & downs together. The days which she referred above was the time when we were studying for our BBA degree and were taking financial or cost accounting tuitions. Of course, she was studying and I was lost in balancing the balance sheets, couldn’t understand a word our teacher taught us but somehow with prayers I managed to clear the subject with respectable marks.

One day while returning from our tuitions we planned few visits to different places, some of them were famous for being haunted and one was the astana (den) of Baba. So as per our plans we randomly selected a Baba nearest to our tuition.

As we excitedly entered his room we saw a very thin & dark faced man sitting at the end of the room. It was a dark room with few lit green bulbs and some kind of smoke was all over in that room. Although we respectfully sat in front of him but he was somewhat uncomfortable by our arrival.

Anyways we continued and naturally the first question we asked him was, “Baba ji when are we getting married?” Followed by several obvious fake queries like, “will our husband be from our family or from outside?” “Is it going to be a love marriage or an arrange one?” “How can you help us in getting our desired person & how much will it cost us?”

Then we showed him the picture of Salman Khan (Baba didn’t recognize him in all that dark green light) and asked him as to how soon he can convince this picture guy to marry one of us.

To which he responded, “Rs. 1000 before and Rs. 1000 after he cast the marriage spell on our picture guy (i.e. Bollywood star Salman Khan).

And then both of us started cross questioning him, within few seconds he got really angry on both of us and told us to immediately leave or else his personally hired genie will teach us a lesson.

Both of us were now in real argument and threatened to call the police and informing the world as to how he is exploiting innocent people, especially young girls.

After intense arguments with Baba, her driver rushed both of us out his den.

But we did what we planned and that is to teach this Baba a small lesson.

Today we both laugh on our adventure, but at the same time we are always extremely grateful to Allah for protecting us. We cannot imagine the extent of danger we were in on that day.

All I can say is, never trust any Baba or Aalim sahab to solve your problems because the only Source that has the actual Power is God; so submit and surrender yourself to Him.

A very good evening to you all.

Sonya Syed. (Day 516)

Word of Caution: All of enthusiasts please never ever try to do what both of us did, we were lucky to come out of that place in one piece, safe & sound.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS): What It Actually Feels Like

Wow! It feels nice to be back to my favourite place in the world, my blog, my love. But today it seems that the world has rotated 360 degrees. As I was trying to figure out how to tap into this new world order I thought the best way is to ask my Higher Power to guide me through. And what a better way to do that, other than recite a prayer ‘Dua Istikhara’ a supplication used by Muslims to seek guidance from Allah before making a decision. If we just read the translation of this supplication: “O Allah, I seek guidance from Your knowledge and power and ask You from Your great bounty. Surely, you can do it, and I am not. You know, and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, life, and end, then decree it for me, make it easy, and bless it for me. But if You know that this matter is bad for me, in my religion, my existence, and my end, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me what is g...

3 January 2019

After fighting with an alien cat in my dream, I am awake at 1.30 am. It all is followed by a futile effort of building a sleep pattern of 9.30 pm to 6 am. Alas, not all wishes come true at once. No problem I will keep on working. Being a really smart gal I have messed up with my sleep-wake cycle long ago, and today when I accidentally opened Rujuta Diwekar’s video on cortisol on my facebook page- I realized what has been going on with me.  For all of you who are not aware that I am a distant relative of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rujuta is the link who tied  Kareena and me  together. You all must be wondering why have I never discussed this earlier, why I took so long to disclose my bond with Kareena. Let me explain.   Rujuta Diwekar is a God’s blessing for all the fools like me who for some stranger reason believe(ed) that going on USA or UK-based diet programs would make us patla (thin/ lean). It was Rujuta’s eating desi ghee and daal sabzi ch...

The Telecom Bill That Slipped Through While Pakistan Looked Elsewhere

While we were all mourning the petrol price hikes and drowning in the chaos of inflation, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja quietly tabled the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organisation) (Amendment) Bill 2026. Most of us didn't even notice. The bill amended the 1996 Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-Organization) Act. It redefined certain terms and replaced Section 27A on Right of Way with a new Section 27B. What sounds like routine legislative work is anything but ordinary. This bill grants state-backed authorization to telecom companies to take over any private property or land and install 5G infrastructure including mobile towers and fiber-optic networks wherever they please. No consent required. No negotiation. Just entry and installation. The astonishing reality is that this draconian bill which grossly violates the fundamental rights of Pakistanis was approved by majority vote in the National Assembly on June 11, 2026. Not a single member objected. Nobody raised their voic...
