Day 207
This is the first proper post which I am writing from my PC. It is
peculiar with so many cords and connections lying around and going in to the black
box we call CPU when one is so used to of a 14’’ screen with a tiny keyboard
and compact system of notepad.
And yes apologies for missing out yesterday’s post I was so sleepy
by the time I sat for writing the post, it was difficult to even focus on the
keys.
So what happened yesterday anything new or it was the same old
story. Well thank goodness that everything was routine and boring besides what
we karachiites have gone through since last few months we cannot afford anymore
excitement.
Fridays are usually busy and limited with hardly any work starting
before 3 pm and somehow the mass laziness gets to you. However, I made a point
to be up as early as possible, complete my daily work and get down to some
business. My actual target is to start my day around 6.30 or 7 pm as I am at
the peak of my energy during early hours since the day moving towards afternoon slows me.
The most vital part of my daily routine is moderate exercise, I am
very happy if I can manage to do any kind of exercise for 4 days. After
spending years with aerobics and a bit of yoga and weight training a doctor
informed me that these type of exercises are only for muscle toning and they
have hardly any significant effect on loosing weight. He suggested that the
only way to loose weight is the old and used formula of brisk walk and
treadmills...errr.. It was as if somebody has hit me on the head, as for sometime I had
a gut feeling that something is not right with my exercise / workout routine.
But the problem is I almost hate treadmills. I have never experienced anything
as dull as walking on a treadmill, of course situation is better at gyms than
at home. However, going to gyms is another time consuming activity because you
have to dress up adequately, be there with a washed face and also add an extra
hour of commuting and I simply cannot afford to give it so much time. Besides
as far as I am concerned I cannot continue this kind of dedication for longer
period of time. So it is back to the home ground where I can save time and work
out on my terms.
Then there is also reasonable focus breakfast and absorbing
vitamin D from sunlight. The latter exceeds everything else because there is no
use of our taking any calcium or its supplements unless we have a minimum of 10
minutes morning sunlight exposure, it is the fastest and the only way to strengthen
our bones, muscles and truly absorbing any of the calcium. People who have
knee, back problems, arthritis or osteoporosis or suffer from any kind of
muscular pain or cramps then sunlight is not only important but crucial to
prevent any future physical disability. However, please be careful as not to
expose your face but focus on hands/ shoulders, legs, and most importantly the
vertebral column.
Quarter teaspoon of crushed and grinded edible Gum (gondh in urdu) mixed in one
cup of either warm milk or warm water is excellent to regenerate cartilage loss
in knee joints.
I believe today’s post is more of a health newsletter rather than
a post; however, if it can be helpful to even one person then I can sleep
peacefully at night.
So long and have a wonderful weekend..
Cheers!
Sonya. (Day 207)
