Allhumdolillah! I am at a much better place since my last post with series of lab tests, utlrasounds, a mammogram and some other really scary tests, and a gut wrenching anxiety of results. I am doing well thankfully everything was clear except low iron levels with vitamin d3 deficiency. These deficiencies are now on their way to recovery. It is worth noting that I have been struggling with intense brain and physical fatigue since 2019 but not a single doctor was able to identify my problem. Once somebody is diagnosed with depression or anxiety then every health issue they complain about is looked from the psychological lenses. Nobody asked me to check iron, vitamin b12 or vitamin d3 deficiencies even my mum who is a dermatologist always assured me that I am fine and this weakness is just a phase. It was a phase alright, it engulfed almost 8 years of my life pushed back my career and research ambitions. This is not the case alone with me but there are many people who silentl...
It is such an enormous relief to finally get over with the test and all the preparations which goes along with it. Although this test was no university or college examination however it is about a subject which I have studied on my very own initiative and now I await as to what might the future holds for me.
Sometimes the hindrances of time and space are dissolved; even though we are not in the proximity of some people yet whenever either or both of us want we could be together and then there is no need for our physical presence, just being with someone in mind and spirit suffices. I have experienced this wonder with my mother, my other family members and friends and every time I go through it I cannot but feel energized and peaceful.
Weather is changing quietly, the heat, the humidity of day and night is transforming into a pleasant wintry season. It is now the time when woollies are taken out from the storage; a time when men on handcarts in the street outside our homes would call up on us to buy peanuts and all the other dry fruits from them, a time to grasp in the coldness of night in long chats with family. Ah! Winters are always such a delight...
We in Pakistan are so very blessed to be able to witness all four seasons in the most perfect manner, nothing exceeds beyond its normal limit. Especially for karachites who are little bit more fortunate because we merely get a glimpse of all four seasons- winters are always light and manageable, autumn is soothing, spring is spring; nevertheless, our dominant weather is warm and sunny. And I love nothing more than this.
To my surprise I am quite sleepy at 11 pm, I would not want to miss this opportunity so friends I tuck in myself...
Leaving you tonight in love & more.
Sonya. (Day 140)
