Enchanted, curious and excited- these are the words which can slightly explain my inner state that I am going through after reading few pages of ‘The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho’. This is my first book by this writer, although he is as an acclaimed author but I was always reluctant to buy his books as he focuses on spiritual themes. When we talk about spirituality then I already have my favorites, and if someone new has to join the list then he needs to be the best . So when he was highly praised by my spiritual mother Oprah Winfrey I had to read his work, and by the initial looks of few pages I am pretty sure that I will enjoy this journey and also take some precious souvenirs. I saw Paulo’s interview with Oprah which she did at his residence in Geneva, Switzerland. If Oprah went all the way to interview him, then there must be something in his work. I loved these lines from a passage in The Alchemist, “When someone sees the same people every day, they wind up be

Thank you all for the warm acceptance of my earlier post “In the name of love (Children series 1). I know that I might have been harsh in the choice of my words but it is a serious issue that needs our immediate attention. I have also Children Series 2 and 3 coming soon and the topics are once again very near to my heart. Few years ago I went to perform Umrah (Muslim pilgrimage other than Hajj), it was my first visit so my friends and family were pretty excited for me, as for me I was ecstatic because I had been told that all our prayers are accepted in Umrah- no exceptions. At that time my life was very simple I just needed few things that I considered precious for my happy existence in the world. So I heartily prayed and begged and cried, and returned with stubborn confidence that all my prayers shall now be answered, positively. Every passing day my confidence grew, and in the heart of my hearts I was damn sure that one by one all the wishes are going to be

These days Mommys are going for short cuts, easy food = happy child.   Every evening when it is chai time for mommy.... a child is blessed with a chips packet to ease her hunger pang. Lunch for school is also easy to manage- some days for French fries, some for other deep fried food from your favourite packaged food company, on some days its packaged pizza, other days its potato chips and juice, and some days when Mommy wants to really rest there is even a better option, a samosa or roll kebab from school. In a supermarket if you walk by any food trolley with children by their parent’s side, you cannot fail to miss the mountain of chips, biscuits, packs of juices, and of course multiple items of the packaged food.  I think it is better for these parents to kill their children immediately rather than opting for slow poisoning and throwing them into never-ending health miseries. A mother more than a father is to be blamed here as they are responsible for

Image Courtesy Fahad Mustafa official Facebook page This latest ad that stars my favorite actor Shaan with other brilliant Pakistani actors from the likes of Jawed Sheikh, Iman Ali, Saima, Mehwish Hayat and Fahad Mustafa. I   loved it, fell in love with it immediately it didn’t take me to think twice and I just loved it. And then in few seconds of watching this number cum advertisement, I realized that the vocals for this song were given by Indian singers Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan. I mean, like what the hell!! This ad was supposed to showcase Pakistani culture and its celebrities, no offence to either Sukhwinder or Sunidhi, but what the f….? It is not their fault that our people are dying to sign them, they are after all professionals and simply doing their job. But are we so handicapped as a nation that we couldn’t find someone from Pakistan to sing for this ad. Sorry for the language but I am really pissed off with those people who are sitting on executiv

Magic or Miracles..continued

"Sadia Saleem   Another good one...ur blogs have always uplifted my spirits in some way, but this one being totally different gives us a small grasp at just how powerful our Almighty is...our praises are just a measurement of our faith in Him and our worships are a manifestation of that measurement...ur blog actually took me in d flashbacks and I remembered when we actually landed up at a babas astana for d sake of fun...at times those carefree days are deeply missed       keep up the best work    " This one is especially for my best friend Sadia who has always shown me her love, appreciation and encouragement. And of course, how can I forget all of you for always blessing me with your affections.
