My Two Cents

Allhumdolillah! I am at a much better place since my last post with series of lab tests, utlrasounds, a mammogram and some other really scary tests, and a gut wrenching anxiety of results. I am doing well thankfully everything was clear except low iron levels with vitamin d3 deficiency. These deficiencies are now on their way to recovery. It is worth noting that I have been struggling with intense brain and physical fatigue since 2019 but not a single doctor was able to identify my problem. Once somebody is diagnosed with depression or anxiety then every health issue they complain about is looked from the psychological lenses. Nobody asked me to check iron, vitamin b12 or vitamin d3 deficiencies even my mum who is a dermatologist always assured me that I am fine and this weakness is just a phase.   It was a phase alright, it engulfed almost 8 years of my life pushed back my career and research ambitions.  This is not the case alone with me but there are many people who silentl...

Dark is beautiful!

Happy International Women's Day! Let’s celebrate this day together, let’s talk about women and their status in 21 st century. A celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. What could be better than sharing my thoughts and inviting your input on women of 2015. We might have become pilots, engineers, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs and above all the loving homemaker wife who gives most of her life in raising her kids, taking care of her home and family. Yet we have lost the battle with our self. The battle where we constantly fight to change our skin color, and the battle which sadly, sometimes is inflicted on us by other women.  Hadiqa Kiyani   Beren Saat Kim Kardashian Sonam Kapoor Deepika Padukone   Kajol Madonna   Katrina Kaif Priyanka Chopra Eva Longoria Karisma Kapoor Aishwarya Rai Bach...

The Universe & I…

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it… Paulo Coehlo (The Alchemist). It was few years when one day I was aimlessly watching TV, jumping from one channel to another in the fruitless effort to find something sensible. During this search I saw an interview of a beautiful lady on the National Geographic channel. She was probably a zoologist, while talking to the camera her eyes were glistening with tears. I was unable to move further and felt compelled to hear her, she said as I recall: ‘It was almost 6 or 7 times when I applied to study for PhD at one of the colleges at Oxford University. Every time they (Oxford University) rejected my application by giving frivolous reasons, but I know that they only rejected me because I was an Indian. They were biased against me.  Yet I am not broken and I have promised to myself that even if I didn’t get the admission, I will continue to work with the best of my abilities; becaus...

The Pacemaker

It has often been said that our hearts are merely pumping machines and their only function is to purify and transmit blood. But if we observe closely, our heart is the place where we first experience any emotion.  When we are hurt or depress or unhappy for any reason, our emotion in the form of energy, revolves in heart giving us bad sensations. Similarly, when we are happy or excited our heart area feels very light as a feather. Whatever happens to us, we feel all that primarily in our heart region. However, with the busyness that goes in our minds and in environment, we hardly ever realize that it is our heart which suffer and endures our life’s pain, as well as pleasures. Science now tells us that our hearts also have brains, they feel and think. Mind is the high-tech processing machine which brings out situations, memories, names, images and people matching the feelings coming out of heart.   In every Religious book, hearts are given prime impor...
